This is a short summary of some of the things that will be on offer during this week: ... climbing trees ... making pulleys ... having catapult firing competitions ... a muddy cake "Bake Off" ... learning knots and lashings to create dens and smaller creations ... creating land art using the materials around us.
We will use a range of stories as starting points to fire imaginations including The Disgusting Sandwich, Percy the Park Keeper, The Something, The Lonely Tree, The Very Helpful Hedgehog and many more.
There will be a camp fire cooking session each day, where we will cook a tasty snack to eat, like cakes in oranges, fritters of all sorts (sweetcorn, apple, spinach, raspberry and beetroot), bread in a tin can, eggy bread, omelettes, etc.
Each day there will be a craft on offer for the children to do. But, in line with the ethos of Forest School, the children can opt not to do this and continue with their own inquiries.
As we will be outside in all weathers and there will be lots of muddy play. Please ensure your child has spare clothes and waterproof clothing.
