Grow House Forest School is exactly what it sounds like – a playful learning experience delivered by trained practitioners within a natural environment. It has its origins in Switzerland as early as 1912, with its philosophy based on educating children to love nature, but also learning with their head, heart and hands. Within the local school system in Switzerland Forest School classes and experiences have been running officially since 1999. Our programme is unique in that it is the first in the Zurich area to be run in English, allowing the English speaking community access to this empowering and inspirational experience.

Where does Grow House Forest School take place?
Our forest school takes place on the Albis Pass, about 15 km south of Zürich center, easily accessible by car or public transportation (use bus 240 from Thalwil).
The woodlands in this area contain a range of flora and fauna, with different areas offering a range of opportunities like building dens, creating sculptures, storytelling and playing hide and seek.
Our primary meeting point is at Hinteralbisstrasse 10, 8135 Langnau am Albis(bus stop Hinteralbis). At this location, our school has use of a barn and forest garden, which provide a variety of environments for the children to explore and inquire.
We have a secondary location, about 500m away, in the woodlands behind the Windegg Hotel. There is a forest hut (a permanent wooden building with a small seating area), that can be used as a base, and also provides a shelter in poor weather. At both locations, we have a permanent fire pit, which we can use..
